Case in point. The other day I was sitting next to Ace on the couch when Sunshine came over. She started climbing up on top of Ace and we couldn't figure out what she wanted. She continued to move until she was snuggled up close to Ace and had a blanket spread across both of their laps, her cup of flashcards safely nearby. Then she was happy and went back to her own world, staring off in the distance and babbling to herself. Mission accomplished with no words needed!
"Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.” ~David Platt

31 for 21 - She Knows What She Wants!
Sunshine is saying more and more words but she's still not able to use them in a very functional way. She tends towards a lot of echolalia and loves to just say words for the sake of saying them - even though they may have no real meaning in the context of what is going on. But, we often say that Sunshine doesn't let not being able to talk (much) keep her from communicating!
